Ruelle
“Songwriting in Nashville for the past 15 years has allowed me to experiment with multiple genres of music, and I eventually found myself gravitating towards more cinematic production. As a kid, I discovered a whole new world of music through Broadway. I began teaching myself how to play songs from shows like The Phantom of the Opera and Cats. I think I’ve always been drawn to music with a little drama. Even at a young age, I was deeply moved by music with real strings and big orchestral elements. The way the dynamics would rise and fall- it was something I couldn’t get away from. It doesn’t surprise me that I circled back to the same sounds years later that initially inspired me as a kid. It feels like I’m going back to what that drew me to music in the very beginning.”
It wasn’t long before her haunting songs began to find their way onto multiple television shows and film trailers. Ruelle was recognized on Billboard’s Top Synced Artists list for five consecutive years, earning the #1 position in 2018 and ranking #2 in 2020. Her songs have been heard on shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Love Island, 13 Reasons Why, DOC, Pretty Little Liars, Shadowhunters, 9-1-1, and Brilliant Minds, just to name a few. Her music has also appeared across major campaigns for HBO, ESPN, Starz, and Netflix. She has also landed songs in major promos for The Super Bowl and The Olympics, along with numerous feature film trailers and global brand campaigns for companies like Kay Jewelers, Jeep, Jimmy Choo, Lincoln, and Ralph Lauren.
Alongside continuing to write and release new music, Ruelle launched The Placement Playbook in 2026, a course designed to help songwriters learn how to craft music for television and film placements, drawing from her years of experience in the sync world.
